           Back to School Supplies for Baptist Centers

school supplies / backpacks / underwear / socks for children

Supplies needed vary from school to school, but a core list which almost every child’s needs includes: school backpack sturdy enough for textbooks; 3-ring binder (1-1.5 inch wide); divider tabs; 200 sheets of wide-rule notebook paper; 4 black and

white composition books; 2 three- or five-subject spiral notebooks (Do not include 1-subject spiral notebooks); 5-8 pencils; 5-8 black or blue ink pens

Additional Items Many Children Need

Packs of new underwear and socks for both boys & girls [k-high school]; colored pencils; water-color paint kit; crayons (16- or 24-pack); highlighter; eraser; glue stick; red pen; permanent marker; pencil box; Protractor and compass; blank CD’s; 3x5index cards; 4-oz bottle of white glue; pencil sharpener; 12-inch ruler with dual metric markings; zippered pouch for 3-ring binder; pocket folders with or without brads; scissors (metal, pointed- or blunt-tip); box of tissues; box of plastic zip bags (quart or gallon size). Items should be placed in the Mission Action Box outside the church office by Sunday, August 16. Call Betty Kay Yamaoka 744-6204 with questions.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT KIDS CLUB

Wednesdays, July 1 – September 2

6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

For ages 3 – sixth grade

[No pre-registration required.]

Coordinator: Rev. Rupert Rose

Meeting in the library, we will use a video based

curriculum that explores biblical truths

and develops character-building traits.

Crafts and games will follow.

Bingo at the Virginia Home

MHBC is going back to set up the bingo game

and help physically disabled residents play bingo.

Wouldn't you like to participate?

More volunteers are needed.

The dates are July 20, August 17.
