             C H U R C H   H I S T O R Y

     Monument Heights Baptist Church held its first service on Oct. 8, 1950, in Westhampton Theater. The church, which voted to hold the charter membership roll open until the end of 1950, was constituted on Oct. 29, 1950, as a mission of Calvary Baptist Church.

     David F. White, Sr., the founding pastor, was a minister with a vision who felt God leading him to organize and build a church. In his book, My Story of the First Eighteen Years of Monument Heights Baptist Church, Rev. White wrote: "I, as pastor, had never doubted God's leadership in what He wanted me to do in establishing this work. That faith has been share by the membership.
