History of the Language School

We began our English Language School for Internationals in 2002 to share the love of Jesus by reaching out into the community to help others. The school has grown steadily since its inception, more than quadrupling in enrollment. All of the services of the school are free of charge to its students, and the program is supported financially by the congregation.

Beginning with three small classes, the school now has seven classes that range in size from about six to 20+ students. In addition to   the citizenship class, new in 2005, the school offers classes ranging from a non-speakers English class to advanced English classes. We also have a Bible Reading Group. Most of the school's staff are members of Monument Heights Baptist Church; however, we are blessed to have three staff members from other area churches.

An exciting outgrowth of this ministry is our International Bible Class, which meets during the Sunday School hour (9:30-10:40 A.M. on Sunday mornings). This class welcomes all Internationals to visit and/or become members.

The entire church congratulates all of new American citizens who attended the Citizenship Class.
