Brief History
of the English Language School
We began our English Language School for Internationals in 2002 to share the love of Jesus by reaching out into the community to help others. The school has grown steadily since its inception.
All of the services of the school are free of charge to its students except for a fee of five dollars per ESL student to help defray the cost of textbooks.
The program is a ministry supported finan-cially and prayerfully by the congregation. Most of the school's staff are members of Monument Heights Baptist Church; however, we are blessed to have some staff members from other area churches or local neighbor-hoods.
We have a Bible Reading Group that practices reading English aloud and an ESL Cafe, where students gather before class to practice conversational English.
Homework Buddies is for children (in grades 1-6) of ESL students. Homework Buddies do their homework and then talk or play games.
